All The King's Men is a male-voice liturgical choir, associated with the College Chapel of St. John the Evangelist at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. Much of their music draws from a rich tradition of Latin and English choral music for men's voices within the context of the Anglican services of Evensong and Compline. Much of the repertoire is early period. All the Kings Men sings evensong on the first Sunday of the month, for more information about the repertoire for a particular service, please check their web page at: All the King's Men and click on next service.
Gregorian, Aboriginal, Russian, Corsican, Persian, Tibetan, Ukrainian, Hebrew—this concert offers an amazing array of vocal chant through the centuries and around the world. True to form, the group will also present intriguing mixes of pure chant and contemporary music, including three new works by Jim Hiscott, Persian musician Amir Amiri and Andrew Balfour. An amazing array of guest artists/coaches are collaborating with the group, including Amir Amiri, Richard Moody, and Phoebe Man. We love singing chant… truth be told, we are surprised that it has taken us this long to think of creating this concert!

Camerata Nova is pleased to join forces with string players from the WSO and internationally renowned baroque soprano Maria Luz Alvarez to offer an exciting program of chamber music, arias, a cappella choral pieces and works for choir and strings. Camerata Nova conductor, Ross Brownlee, has selected a wide range of repertoire from early music “greats” such as Victoria, Gabrieli, Byrd and Josquin des Prez, to two strong compositions for choir and string quartet by Manitoba composers, Andrew Balfour and Ken Nichols. The concert will be held in the exceptional acoustic of the newly restored Convocation Hall at the University of Winnipeg.
From the Middle Ages to Manitoba is presented as a four-way collaboration between Camerata Nova, Virtuosi Concert Series, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the University of Winnipeg.
